What Happens After the Audit
Once your audit is delivered, you’ll have everything you need to begin reducing your cloud costs.
The report is designed to make implementation straightforward and require minimal additional analysis.
Review the Report
Section titled “Review the Report”Start with the highest-level sections:
- If You Only Do 3 Things — the most important actions
- Summary Report — key findings and overall savings opportunity
This will give you a quick understanding of where to focus.
Implement Quick Wins
Section titled “Implement Quick Wins”Next, move to the Quick Wins Playbook.
These are:
- Low effort
- Safe to implement
- High impact
This is the fastest way to begin reducing costs.
Follow the Prioritized Action Plan
Section titled “Follow the Prioritized Action Plan”After quick wins, work through the Prioritized Action Plan.
This ensures you:
- Focus on the highest-impact changes first
- Avoid unnecessary or low-value work
- Implement improvements in a logical order
Use Supporting Sections as Needed
Section titled “Use Supporting Sections as Needed”The report includes additional context to support decision-making:
- Optimization Opportunities — full list of identified improvements
- Risk Labels — guidance on safe implementation
- Savings Estimates — expected impact
- Cost of Inaction Report — potential downside of not making changes
Use these sections to guide more detailed decisions.
Validate Results
Section titled “Validate Results”After implementing changes, you can:
- Monitor your AWS costs
- Compare before and after spend
- Confirm that expected savings are being realized
Implementation Effort
Section titled “Implementation Effort”Most recommendations are designed to be:
- Straightforward to implement
- Low to moderate effort
- Safe when applied as described
Some changes may require engineering support depending on your system.
Optional Follow-Up
Section titled “Optional Follow-Up”If needed, you can:
- Ask questions about specific recommendations
- Clarify implementation details
- Request additional guidance
Ongoing Optimization
Section titled “Ongoing Optimization”Cloud cost optimization is not a one-time task.
As your system evolves:
- New inefficiencies can emerge
- Usage patterns can change
- Costs can grow over time
